Your health data is yours. We built Ease around that principle.
What we collect
When you use Ease, we store the information you give us:
- Account info— your email address, first name, and the autoimmune condition you selected during onboarding.
- Quiz responses— your answers from the onboarding quiz, used to personalize your practice.
- Daily check-ins— mood, symptoms, flare status, stress level, sleep quality, and any notes you add.
- Reflections— journal entries you write in the Reflect tool.
- Usage data— which features you use, how often, and basic device/browser info (collected via PostHog analytics).
How we use it
- Personalization— your condition and quiz answers shape the toolkit recommendations and insights you see.
- Pattern tracking— your check-in data powers the trends and correlations shown in the app (stress-sleep, symptom frequency, flare patterns).
- Product improvement— anonymized, aggregated usage data helps us understand which features are working and where to invest.
- Communication— we send transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmations) and occasional product emails (milestone check-ins, weekly summaries). You can manage these from your Profile.
What we don't do
This matters, so we'll be direct:
- We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We do not share your health data with insurance companies, employers, or any third party for underwriting or coverage decisions.
- We do not use your health data for ad targeting. Ever.
- We do not train machine learning models on your personal journal entries or check-in data.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to run Ease. Each has its own privacy policy, and we've chosen them carefully:
- Supabase— database and authentication. Your data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security.
- Stripe— payment processing. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles all payment data under PCI DSS compliance.
- Resend— transactional email delivery. Resend processes your email address to send messages on our behalf.
- PostHog— product analytics. We track feature usage and app performance. PostHog does not receive your health data, journal entries, or check-in content.
- Vercel— hosting. Serves the app and handles server-side rendering.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab at any time. This removes your check-ins, reflections, quiz responses, and profile information from our database. Deletion is irreversible.
Before deleting, you can export your data as a PDF from the Profile tab.
Your rights
Whether you're covered by GDPR, CCPA, or similar privacy laws, we honor these rights for all users:
- Access— you can view all the data we hold about you, directly in the app.
- Export— you can download your check-in and reflection data as a PDF at any time.
- Delete— you can permanently delete your account and all data from the Profile tab.
- Correction— you can update your name and profile information from the Profile tab.
- Withdraw consent— you can stop using Ease at any time. Deleting your account removes everything.
We do not require you to email us or submit a formal request to exercise these rights. They're built into the app.
Children
Ease is designed for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email before they take effect. Minor clarifications or formatting updates won't trigger a notification, but the “last updated” date above will always reflect the most recent version.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or if you want to exercise a right that isn't covered by the in-app tools, reach out.
